Grinding teeth your nightmare?
The term applied when a person’s teeth grind against each other is known as bruxism. The problem is an issue for many people in the UK and some people will not realise that it is happening to them. A misalignment of the teeth and jaw is the most predominant cause of bruxism however those who are stressed or even have mental health problems are susceptible to grind their own teeth against each other.
The symptoms of bruxism will most likely occur from a pain in the mouth or jaw area, which itself could lead to further discomfort in the ear or even brain. One dentistry job is to diagnose whether the patient can solve the problem of bruxism through personal measures or whether a mouth guard will be needed, which is used to stop the habit of teeth grinding, especially at night.
Dentists in Palm Beach have noted that it is at night time when a person suffering from bruxism is likely to enhance the problem. It is taught on courses for dentists that a person is likely to grind their teeth up to six times more strongly than they would during the day, as their subconscious urge takes over. Another different method of curing bruxism is through means of hypnosis but results here can tend to vary.
